Campton is a popular condo community in San Diego, California. Residents are close to recreation, stores, restaurants, and services.
The units at Campton were built in the 1990s and many have been renovated. This community offers a private swimming pool, spa, and is in walking distance to Cypress Canyon Park. This park features basketball courts, a playground, and jogging path. The Home Owners Association dues are low, and there are no Mello Roos taxes.
The San Diego Unified School District is the second largest in the state. Students attend many highly ranked facilities like Scripps Elementary School, Marshall Middle School, and Scripps Ranch High School. There are hundreds of private institutions like the Calvary Christian Academy, Escondido Adventists Academy, the Montessori American School, and Halstrom Academy. Public universities include the University of California (UCSD) and San Diego State University (SDSU) as well as the San Diego Community College District.
There are plenty of outdoor activities in this region. To the west is Miramar Lake which offers fishing, boating, and picnicking. There is also a trail that is five miles long and wraps around the lake. Visitors enjoy the panoramic views of the northern communities, Miramar, Mira Mesa, and University City. To the east is the Sycamore Canyon Open Space Preserve which covers over 2,000 acres and is a popular hiking destination because of its rolling hills and canyons.
There are several golf venues but to the north you’ll find the Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club. Besides practice facilities and a fully equipped golf shop, this club features a Ron Fream course. Banquet facilities as well as a bar and restaurant are available.
